Meet Tobias Daniels of Castle Sky Entertainment in Echo Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tobias Daniels.

Tobias, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Entertainment has always been a part of my life. My parents were both performers. I was on the performance track for years, but found I was just as happy behind the camera and have turned my addiction to Hollywood’s magic into a career. Don’t get my wrong there were years of struggle both personal and professional. However, I’ve been fortunate enough to have had a nice stretch of success. In these uncertain times I’m keeping my focus on my wellness, which has opened up a tremendous opportunity to share my personal and professional approach to wellness with new clients and collaborators.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Most of my career was spent struggling.  C-19 feels like my 20’s all over again. Surprisingly the management sub division we opened last year has for the most part been busy during LA’s Quarantine. Production on SongPop Live has been moved to one of our client’s homes, we have several projects in the early stages of development, and a growing client list. In contrast the production side of the business during the C-19 Pandemic is at a full stand still forcing our business to reevaluate our direction, review efficiency, and seek help, namely from the SBA and grants like the Motion Picture & Television Fund/The Actors Fund Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund.

Please tell us about the company.
castle sky entertainment specialize in Producing celebrity talent for television. As CEO and in the industry I’m know as a “fixer” with a calm demeanor under the most intense circumstances. I try to instill that approach in all my teams. I’ve definitely gotten the team on board with crystals, oils, meditation and wellness. We like to keep the good vibes going whether it’s an A Paper Prime Time Show for a major Network or a show about canabis cousin for Netflix we have our hands in everything from the booking process to contracts, wardrobe, creative, script, to payroll. On the event production side our teams have run stages, script supervision, red carpets to large event supervision. Creative development has always been at our core whether it’s supporting a celebrity, distributor, or now our own development as we move into original programing, notably with two projects pulled off the shelf: a documentary and original children’s series.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve been fortunate to have my assistant Zsuzsanna “Suzi” Hegedus by my side through some of the most tedious aspects of keeping a business alfoat during C-19. Our Digital Content Manager Aneesah Moore has kept the business relevant from day one, and saw the larger vision I had for the company long before we had any track record. Before branching off to start my own company a major part of my industry experience came from working with One Foot Productions, from the moment I formed my business to this day One Foot has been a guide and has shared countless assets that we still use to streamline our work. I started partnering with 1iota Production in 2019; in just 6 months we worked four major events and a tour. While the business’ continue to grow, my goal is to pass over operations of castle sky management to my business partner Ryan Champagne.
