Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Rogers-Mallett.
Tina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my career in the Beauty Industry in Los Angeles CA at Leimert Park Beauty Academy in 1988. I relocated to Dallas Texas in 1995 where I currently reside and have established 2 Salons in the DFW Metroplex here in Texas, Purity Salon. I am a wife, a mother of three and a grandmother of nine.
My sole motivation originates and is recharged by my love for my family. I am an Influencer in the Beauty Industry, and I have a passion to serve people. I’m one of the Founders of The Bosses Brunch Lupus Charity Event held Annually here in Dallas. I am the Department Lead of the “Styling with the Stars” segment of the Texas International Hairshow. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Sheilahe’s Way Lupus Foundation.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success is never easy. Managing stylist and developing individuals can be rewarding but extremely challenging in the same since. This by far has been one of the bigger challenges. We work in a billion dollar industry so it should be simple for everyone to achieve it all and in time my prayer is that we do use this platform to capitalize and evolve.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Purity Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
Purity Is my brand. I have multiple ventures that steam from Purity. I have partnered with a few people to help grow and develop my brand, and I must say it’s been extremely rewarding. Purity Salon partnered with Ken Smith. Purity Luxury Hair partnered with Reshonda Houston and The Bosses Brunch Created by Purity partnered with Sheilahe Brown.
I am known for being a team player and a lover of people. I am very innovative, and I always strive for continued growth and development. My proudest moment was when I clearly saw my vision, and I did what I had to do to birth that vision and was able to look back at the journey and smile with no regrets
Most recently recruited as a Lead Educator and Custom Unit Designer for a new Beauty Clinic at The Source of Hope Foundation in Plano Texas.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I never consider it luck or unlucky. I say blessed and untimely. Everyone gets there time. Timing is ordered, and you will get what’s for you when it is on favorable timing. So I’m that one must know and develop patience.
