Meet Tiffco of Define Perfect

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffco.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tiffco. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started off doing music back in high school in 2009. I was in 9th grade at Crenshaw High School. Music has always been an outlet for me. Being a student at Crenshaw High school, I was one of those students that rapped at our prep rallies. I remember it was a year Dorsey vs Crenshaw high football game I performed. I was even in a class with freedom of speech writing poetry. Also performing at little parties in Windsor Hills, The Shatto on Slauson, and areas in my neighborhood in high school. After high school, I never gave up on music. I started recording actual songs. I attended Santa Monica College, Santa Monica was low key crackin’ “laughs” These dudes had their own Ent they were passing out flyers I told them I rap and let them hear one of my songs called “On my Sh&T” Anyways, they said bet come to perform this weekend. It was an 18+ club. I went with a few of my friends I knew from back In high school. Some my age or a little older. I was 19 at the time the security was trippin’ on me when I showed them my I.d and told me, “I could perform but, I had to leave after a certain time, they start selling liquor.” I did my thing.

From that point, I started doing little shows here and there. I then came out with a single called “Gang Thick” Continuing doing music, I clicked up with these Producers by the name of Two fifteen we started working in the studio at RedRoom. They’ll send me the beats and I’ll either write at home or freestyle in both. They were the first guys that made beats while I’m at the studio with them. In 2018, my dad died from kidney failure, he had been on dialysis. It was an unexpected time in my life, they had just sent his paper for a kidney. April of 2018, I was at 23 at the time, that same year on my 24th birthday, I made a song called “Only If You Knew”, this song felt right at that time. Two months after that an artist by the name of Dave East posted me on his page and his caption was “Felt you” Unbelievable this is when Nipsey was alive; he had liked one of my songs as well on my Instagram. It was dope for me being that I am an independent artist.

Moving forward, three videos after that “Get to it”, “Run it back” & “Blurr”. More people have acknowledged my work as being an independent artist. Outside of my artistry, I’ve always dressed as well. Since my artist’s name is Tiffco or “Luxury”. I came out with a brand called “DefinePerfectDP”. I started to make “jerseys”, “hoodies”, “tee shirts”, etc. symbolizing who I am through the color wave and how I switch my colors. Outside of me being an artist, the trials, and tribulations in my life. I am able to show how passionate I am through music as well as through my clothes.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Keeping a strong belief in yourself work very easy to give up if you’re not a thick skin. Nothing comes easy which is why I came out with the clothing brand Define Perfect.

DefinePerfectdp – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My brand is called “Define Perfect”, the name of my brand stands out its self. It’s very simple but yet has so many meanings. Nothing in the world is perfect especially us humans. Trying to find ourselves daily. I am proud of staying determined and motivated. I started my brand a few months ago, I always had a vision of starting my own clothing brand. I’m proud of keeping word, also believing in myself and my own beliefs.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is what you make it ‘ there’s no limit to being successful. It’s all apart of your own happiness.
