Meet Thomas Della Bella of Everlong Videography in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Della Bella.

Thomas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Capturing weddings all started back when I was attending film school. On the weekends, I was looking for creative ways to make some money while applying my filmmaking skills. One weekend I reached out to all the leading videography companies in LA with my resume to work as a videographer and many of them got back to me! From there I was off to the races learning all the secrets of live event videography. Specifically, I’d like to mention Brand Videography and All Because He Asked Videography as I ended up working exclusively for them for a few years as a videographer and editor.

After building up my reel and realizing how much I truly enjoyed shooting weddings, I decided to start my own company about two years ago. Ever since I published my website and started advertising, I’ve been working non-stop! I now have three videographers and two editors that work with me and we offer a variety of different videography packages.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely had its ups and downs! Especially the first few months I started Everlong Videography! Essentially, it was most challenging to create wedding films that stand out from the rest. It took a few months to really lock on to the exact style I imagined. Our films are incredibly cinematic yet non-invasive. Now, what that means is that we don’t do a lot of ‘staging,’ we like to capture raw emotion as the day plays out.

Most of the time our clients have no idea we are shooting them because we like to use long lenses. My style creates a very natural and captivating film that my clients always really respond to!

Everlong Videography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Everlong Videography is a live event videography company that specializes in weddings based in Los Angeles, New York and destinations worldwide. We create highly artistic highlight films that showcase all the most beautiful moments of the day as well as feature length documentary style wedding films. I am the owner/operator of the company. My main duties include: shooting as the lead videographer, editing, client relations, accounting, managing advertising, website design and pretty much everything else that keeps a small business moving. I’m most proud of the work my company puts out. I treat each wedding event as a completely new cinematic adventure and strive to capture all of the love and beauty of the day. What sets us apart from the others would definitely be the style of our films as well as our customer service. I handle all of the client relations personally and I always make sure to go above and beyond what my clients expect.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career is definitely from a recent interaction with a client. After delivering the finished films to the couple, I received a phone call from the bride that was so overwhelmed by the film that she called me crying with tears of joy and excitement. The couple had asked me to finish the film with a very quick turnaround time so that they could share the film with a terminally ill family member. So I had the film finished and delivered within two days after the wedding. They were so thankful and happy with the film that they sent me an edible arrangement the next week! The whole experience really made me proud of the work I do.
