Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryn Siegelman.
Bryn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Formed by a love for creating, All Things by Bryn was dreamt up during the Spring of 2020. Like the rest of the world, I was stuck in quarantine looking for a creative outlet to pass the time. I wanted to create something that would bring light and love to my friends and family during a time when hugs were not permitted. I began by making a few custom sweatshirts for my girls and before you know it – I was stitching and dying garments left and right. What started as a quarantine activity (while re-watching the entire Glee series) has now turned into a full-on side hustle! I could not be more grateful or stoked to create these one-of-a-kind threads and have dreams of expanding my line into unisex styles for everyone, no matter gender or size 🙂
Has it been a smooth road?
Although I am loving every moment, creating a business has been far from easy. My biggest strength has always been my creative mind so I figured as long as I was making each product, the road ahead seems somewhat manageable. Creating a business plan, ordering inventory, designing and making the products by hand, taking care of shipping and tracking logistics and keeping everything organized as a “one-woman-show” definitely created a number of obstacles. Once orders began rolling in and I could no longer keep up with the demand, I hired my friend to help create custom pieces while I took a moment to manage the business/marketing side of things in addition to creating new designs and products. After a few weeks of working together, we found our groove and created a system that works. I am so grateful for her!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
All Things by Bryn creates hand-made items made with love for…
ALL people (and even pets!)
It is made for the dreamers and the creators; for anyone and everyone that uses fashion as an expression of themselves. Each piece is made to make you smile and keep you cozy – whether you’re working from home or relaxing on the beach. Buying for a friend or for yourself (because you deserve it), we invite you to find an item that speaks to you or customize your gear each step of the way.
I am proud to represent a brand that believes in inclusion and diversity with a focus on individuality. Each one-of-a-kind piece is dyed and stitched by hand with the customer in mind. At the end of each month, 20% of profits go to a charity of choice. So far, we have donated to two amazing organizations:
The Trevor Project, which is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.
The Conscious Kid, an education, research, and policy organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity development in youth. We support organizations, families, and educators in taking action to disrupt racism in young children.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
My community has been the biggest factor in my success so far. I am born and raised in the South Bay and I feel extremely lucky to call this little slice of heaven my forever home. I would absolutely recommend starting a business here because this community takes support, promotion and assistance to a whole new level. As I mentioned before, I started as just one person – designing and creating items out of love in my garage with no real expectations of where this would lead me. As orders started to come in and I realized I’d need a few helping hands, I was overwhelmed by my friends and family’s support. I had volunteers helping me create Excel docs or dying the garments, creating copy for my marketing, anything I needed – they were there to help each step of the way. The constant support from my friends, family and community has been the backbone to my success with this business so far, I am grateful every single day!
