Meet Theo Hyppolite of Stix-n-Bundles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theo Hyppolite.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Theo. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I’m a cinematographer from the Bay Area, currently living and freelancing full-time in Los Angeles. I started out trying to be innovative while always looking for fresh new ideas and opportunities. I started out doing a lot of lighting to learn how to create a sexy world for the camera to look at. Once I gained confidence in my passion for lighting, I picked up a camera and learned how to maneuver. Always having a good eye for the picture I decided camera would be a great fit for me. My technical abilities and people skills allow me to work great with directors gaffers, and key grips to create a spectacular picture.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Its been a struggle to stay consistent. That is definitely key to succeeding in this business. Its a challenge to consistently find work but somehow I manage. Its fun trying to find a way to get a job or meeting people on the streets and being able to create work from simple moments is more of a fun challenge than an obstacle.

Please tell us about Stix-n-Bundles.
I created Sticks-n-Bundles with two other people. It is a lighting company that provides full lighting and grip for any picture being shot.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from being a child is watching 101 Dalmatians for the first time and being amazed at what movies can do for the imagination and mind of a child.
