Meet Taylor Mikiska in Miracle Mile

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Mikiska.

Taylor, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started teaching group fitness in May of 2017. I had always been a huge class junkie, but thought of teaching as a kind of fantasy – not something I would actually ever do. After working for a tech start-up, I was ready for a change and ready to really have control of my time and schedule. One of my favorite spin teachers asked me if I’d ever seriously thought about teaching and he completely took me under his wing. Having more flexibility in my schedule allowed me to try something else I’d always wanted to do – lifestyle blogging. I’m still finding the balance, but I love getting to choose my own adventure each day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road! Trying to build your brand in a super saturated market is never easy. As a new teacher and new to the fitness and blogging world, I’m constantly asking myself what makes me different, what makes me unique? There are so many knowledgeable, talented, dedicated people in Los Angeles. I’m always pushing myself to work hard and do what feels the most “me”.

Please tell us about Taylor Mikiska.
It’s just me. I’m my brand, I’m my business. I hope to encourage people to live balanced lives and just do the things that feel good to them. I love teaching fitness, but it’s not the total sum of my being. That’s something I really try to explore in my blog. People are never just one thing. They aren’t only the ways they make money. I’m always finding new things I enjoy and sharing them. I love connecting and I know that will always be at the core of the work I do.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m always starting over! I don’t believe in being stuck. I try things and if they don’t work, I try something else. There is no definitive “beginning” and “end”, there’s just motion, action and flow and enjoying the journey from moment to moment.
