Meet Tanya Nichole of LNK Taco Bar in Moreno Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Nichole.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hey, so basically I’ve always worked two jobs to make sure I had enough. I worked for Walmart for 12 years and after being threatened with write up for my child being sick or myself I was over it in 2012, I decided to pick up move and start my own event planning business. I hired a caterer for an event and they stood me up so I had to make the tacos. I got so much great feedback I decided to add this to my services. In 2015, I started a regular Taco stand at Spa 313 in Inglewood the owner was so nice to me and new the challenges I was facing being a new entrepreneur. Every Friday and Saturday, I was setup at the salon clients started coming just for tacos or rescheduling the appointment just so they could eat lol.

Fast forward the pandemic hit and I could no longer go to the salon to setup. I had no idea what I was going to do. Someone told me about a legal home kitchen I thought to myself I don’t really know anyone where I live so how will this work. I signed up had my grand opening March 21 right in the beginning of covid19 and I must say this was a blessing in disguise. I’ve been doing curbside pickup and the support from my community has been amazing. At this stage, I’m looking to expand and open up dine in options of course following all safety guidelines.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, right when I was planning my grand opening the talk of COVID19 was coming in to place. Restaurants started getting shut down and I was just opening. I wanted to offer dine in but I had to change the plane to curbside pickup only.

Please tell us about LNK Taco Bar.
Well, to say the least, I take pride in my business and food. LNK Taco Bar offers a wide variety of catering options for any event. Our special is the Taco Bar. Five meats to choose from loaded on a deep-fried shell just like home. I always see other vendor’s doing the famous street tacos but no one was frying the shells like home lol.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Gosh, my mom cooking up tacos and koolaid on the weekend and all my cousins coming over just hanging and bonding with the family.

  • 3 tacos for $5
