Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Nguyen and Faby Niswonger.
Tammy and Faby, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We both have a passion for food because it always brings people together and creates memories! We went to culinary school to gain knowledge, gather experience, and to perfect our craft in the field. A few years later, we met each other at a catering company and learned that we both had a desire to prepare healthy, yet flavorful dishes and to make it convenient for others to do the same. After some brainstorming, Eat Organix was born!
With a deep interest in living fit lives, we both also furthered our education and became a Holistic Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian, respectively. This continually helps us have a better understanding of how food works in the body in order to create our meal plans. Eat Organix also focuses on a bigger picture, Mother Nature.
We strive to be as Eco-Friendly and sustainable as possible. Our meals are comprised of fresh, organic, and local ingredients; our containers are certified compostable and made from plants and our daily delivery menus are made from recycled brown paper bags. We hope to leave a big impact not only on people, but also the Earth.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been a couple struggles we have dealt with starting a new company, such as: being your own boss means you always work and never have a day off but we in turn learned to find a balance in work and in other things we enjoy.
Another obstacle we have encountered and overcome was a sudden growth spurt in business. Within a few short weeks, our clientele more than tripled, but we kicked it in to high gear and made it over the hurdle. We are now prepared for even more growth!
Please tell us about Eat Organix.
Eat Organix is an Organic, Farm-to-Table, and Gluten-Free meal delivery service but we also offer Nutritional Consultations.
We are known for our variety in our menu and how much flavor we have in our meals. We show our clients that eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring!
What sets us apart from others? Well, everyone has their own unique style for their brand and we wanted ours to reflect us– how we care about the environment, supporting local businesses, and creating healthy, organic meals. It’s also a plus that we both have backgrounds in nutrition!
We are so proud that we went after our dream of having our own company. We work hard in every detail of what Eat Organix represents for us and what we believe in.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Tammy: When I was young, my mom and I would make fresh egg rolls and pork buns. I remember always getting SO excited just to brush the egg wash on the rolls!
Faby: My mother used to catch me with my face in fridge in the middle of the night with a mouth full of food! She would call out “FABY!” and I’d turn my head and my cheeks would be stuffed with food!
