Thanks for sharing your story with us Tammy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a licensed stylist of over 30 years, I wanted bring a product to market that could truly offer clients and stylist unique and consistent results and rekindle the relationship with the consumer and her stylist. Our salon exclusive system empowers the stylist with results you can’t find in your local store.
With the trend of natural hair care products the message was to destroy the relationship with the stylist, just buy our product for results. We know they go hand in hand. The trained professional hair care provider can identify problems that our products can fix. Our motto is to bring care back to hair and clients back to the chair.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
LOL. No, but its been an amazing journey. I started my company from $0. After returning to work from being sick, rebuilding my salon, SilkOut Bar, I decided to launch the product line at the same time. I had to bootstrap my way through development and launching.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SilkOut System story. Tell us more about the business.
Well my salon, SilkOut Bar is known for premium haircare and restoration. We do not offer any extension services nor style them. I have a passion for real and healthy hair. I clients find us online, see our results, book and the rest is history. I’m most proud that I actually took the leap in 2015 and rebranded my salon. Removing services like extensions that no longer fit my brand and the clients I desired to serve, Our products and our client experience. We are able to offer quality in addition to managing our time efficiently so women of color can enjoy the salon experience again.
