Meet Tamara Ellison of Empowered to Flourish in Greater Los Angeles – San Bernardino County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Ellison.

Tamara, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had an interest in empowering and helping others become their best self. Since I was already a professional Development and Business strategist, and “mindset shift” expert with a strong background in business consulting and leadership development, and honed subspecialties in both Performance Management and Personal Growth. The development of this nonprofit was only ideal. Although I’ve always had the passion to empower, I also wanted to focus on student success in the 21st Century, as it is essential to serve the “whole student” so Empowered to Flourish (E2F) came into full effect. Afterschool programs were designed to address the diverse social and emotional needs of students, along with many of our other programs that promote positive relationships and more fulfilling life in school, home, and the community-at-large. It was and will be continuously important to me to provide an opportunity for girls to flourish inside and out.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge was not to think too small and limited our program to a specific ethnicity or social background. We believe girl empowerment is not just for those of a certain race or facing economic hardship. Every girl needs empowerment so they can defy the status quo and thrive.

Please tell us about Empowered to Flourish.
I am a prominent motivational speaker, author, and highly sought-after resource in Girl Empowerment for Schools, nonprofits and community leaders from all areas of society desiring to impact future generations. This is all driven by the belief that every girl was born to be great.

Empowered to Flourish has grown so much over the years and is continuously meeting our goal. We are driven by a single goal which is to empower girls to grow, thrive, and become confident girls with healthy self- esteem. Since 2008, we’ve equipped girls with the ability to face and overcome obstacles that life presents, causing them to develop a winning perspective and triumphant mindset. As I realized, there is a treasure, a goldmine of untapped potential in every girl in the world that can be put forth to conquer greatness.
