Meet Tachaka Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tachaka Williams.

Hi Tachaka, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve had my share of life. I will start by saying that… Everything from constantly getting in trouble to becoming a mother and doing a complete 360 in my life has made me who I am today! I’ve always thought outside the box and tried to create my own lane when it comes to building my business, from throwing kid’s parties to opening one of Savannah’s first kid’s salons to now birthing BRAIDS BE GONE. Braids Be Gone was something that I didn’t take very seriously at first, I can remember one week being on social media and it seemed as though my entire timeline was filled with so many unhappy people and people complaining about stylists not wanting to wash their hair or people having a head full of braids who dreaded having to take them out.

So I instantly said to myself, “If there was someone who only offered those services that would be dope” and it literally took off from there. God placed me around the right people at the right time and I found everything that I needed from my business suite to my hair products and the way to properly take care of hair. I stayed out night after night researching hair growth and what products work best with what and I started promoting and the level of support that was received was mind-blowing. As time progressed, I knew that I could silk press really well so I had a client that wanted to give it a twirl and ever since that day, the bookings have been through the roof. I’m a living breathing testimony for anyone who has ever thought about giving up, no matter what came my way I never gave up even when I could have or felt like I should have. I’m that girl who knows what it’s like to try and fail; trust me I know how the frustration and struggle and I’m here to tell everyone that God is able never give up and never be afraid to try even if you fail, get up and try again something great will always come if the consistency and grind is there!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a crazy rocky road for me consistency has always been my issue my attention span is really short so once I want to do something and master it, I’m usually on to the next thing. I’m constantly in competition with myself so I’m always trying to find ways to go above and beyond to outdo myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in all things healthy hair! I offer braid removal, weave removal, natural hair treatments, foundation braid- downs and silk press. My business sets me apart from others because normally a stylist gives the hairstyles and me well I’m removing your styles and treating your hair and prepping you for the next style and your journey to long healthy hair.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next five years, my plans are to open up a full salon in another location or two and offer products and knowledge to any and everyone wanting to join in on the journey.
