Meet Symone Farrar of The Kollections

Today we’d like to introduce you to Symone Farrar.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a 23 years old entrepreneur. I’m into all sorts of things but what takes up most of my time is fashion and modeling. Currently working on a swimsuit and intimates line for women and more. I always had a thing for fashion and modeling since a little girl but as I grew older, I loved it more. When I was little, I wouldn’t even leave the house if my outfit didn’t match and I didn’t have my toes and nails done. That’s just how precise I was about my look, that actually ties into how I am today. Anything I put out is something that has been thought about and critiques for a while. I’m sensitive about my work.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road most definitely has been bumpy but God has his strongest go through the most so I’m alright. In 2016, I was stabbed three times, getting hit in a main artery in my left shoulder but I made it. Clearly lol. It was a tough time but after that happened, it pushed me to hustle beyond what I thought I was capable. It creates a young woman hungry for success and although that was a traumatic part of my life, I look for that hunger in me every time I get down or feel like I’m not capable of something.

The Kollections – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
So my company is called “The Kollections” it originated in 2016 when the choker/necklace face was out. I sold chokers online, Instagram, college markets and more. Now I am working on specializing in women’s intimates and more. I am in the works of doing so, so what I’m most proud of is that I’m doing it all alone. Like many other women, I’m building it from the ground up but my story and background is different. I’m striving hard to succeed because I have no choice.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I feel like transparency is most important to success. Most people may feel different but I just feel like if you’re honest about everything whether someone likes it or not, they have to respect it. No one wants a bad name out in the world and if you do right by people, God does right by you.
