Meet Sylvie de Gil of Jomsy Fashion in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvie de Gil.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sylvie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a French business woman who have parlayed my fashion expertise and life-long visual arts experience into an innovative fashion industry business.

I started Jomsy Fashion Consultant in 2010 with the goal of coaching emerging designers towards building a solid foundation for clothing line production. A foundation that clients can apply again and again no matter the type of clothing collection.

My creativity lends a unique perspective to teaching social media skills for marketing and branding. My inspiration has been enhanced by living in numerous countries and traveling worldwide. I mentored my staff into amazing talent. This reflects my passion for the fashion industry know-how in effective social media practices.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Jomsy is a unique concept. Regular fashion consulting firms usually only work with one client at a time, offering very limited services usually focusing on design.

Jomsy is different, we support our clients through each step of their project. Clients come in with an idea and we bring it to sale, from design to marketing. The difficulties we had to face was in the staffing. Due to the fast-growing success of the company, we worked with up to 12 clients at a time, in 3 different languages. It was a technical challenge to have the teams at Jomsy ensuring excellence of service for all clients, and we take pride on our client satisfaction (Jomsy received Yelp customer satisfaction certification again in 2016).

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Jomsy Fashion – what should we know?

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
At Jomsy, we made sure that to be attentive to our clients need. We listen to the client and ask all questions needed to fully understand their project. Most of the time, clients do not know much about the fashion industry, we therefore take pride in teaching them our knowledge and take the time needed for each client. We teach, coach and motivate them through their project.

Our formula is: listen, understand, and customize.

Passion, dedication, patience and hard work are the keys to our success.
