Meet Susie Rojas of Talking Tax Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susie Rojas.

Susie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always knew I wanted to start my own business both of my parents are entrepreneurs and I was always encouraged to follow my dreams. After college, my best friend; Cindi Flores and I decided to start our own business. This was the best decision for us. I majored in Finance and developed accounting skills during college. We started the business at the age of 22. It has been a long road but worth it. We have given Talking Tax Solutions (TTS) many long hours and have grown the business since. We really go above and beyond for our clients. We excel in our customer services, there are many services that we offer free of charge to our clients, just because we want everyone to take the best experience with them after they leave TTS.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, starting as a young entrepreneur, people had a hard time trusting us because of our age. We had many people question the ability of our skills based on our young appearance. We struggled to get clients, however, we offered free trials; if they liked our service they pay if they didn’t there was no obligation to file their taxes with us. In the end, most people trusted us and loved the service. Which, we are eternally grateful for.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Talking Tax Solutions story. Tell us more about the business.
Talking Tax Solutions is a tax business. We specialize in preparing taxes for individual, small businesses, S corps, etc. We are mostly known for tax preparation. However, we do offer other services such as bookkeeping, tax resolution, tax representation, and Notary Public services. I am mostly proud of the integrity our office holds and our customer service. We are always honest with our clients and provide a detailed breakdown of what their numbers are showing.

Additionally, we go above and beyond to provide the best customer service. We don’t have a time frame as to how long we should spend with a client. If we feel our client needs 4 hours we give that client 4 hours, if we feel they need 1 hour, then that client gets 1 hour. The price is not based on the hours spent with the client but on the form we prepare.

Additionally, we try to give to our community. For the last 4 years, every year we have held a teddy bear drive for children that undergo cancer treatments. Each year, we have collected over 100 new teddy bears to help brighten a child’s life during their chemo sessions. This is done during the last weeks of November to give to the children during Christmas time. We collect these teddy bears from friends, family, and clients that are gracious enough to help us with this event that has been growing more every year.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I feel the industry will have more remote clients than face to face visits. In the last two years we have increased our remote clients based using on social media advertising. We have had many people contact us to prepare their taxes remotely because they don’t live in LA, or California for that matter. Social Media has increased our client based drastically and we feel its shifting for the best.
