Meet Summer Titone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Titone.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Summer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My interest and love for fashion began with my family’s history in lace making. I grew up visiting the Titone lace factory, machines loudly whirring, the smell of oil and the beautifully delicate lace to take home with me. These beginnings of my artistic journey shaped my purpose and passion in the art world. Surrounded by artists and entrepreneurs in my family, I take pride in their legacy and guidance.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to my current place as a fashion designer has had many ups and downs. I have worked for designers, making custom clothing for celebrities, and worked in restaurant hospitality to support my endeavors in Los Angeles. Having been in the field and out of the field, in work and out of work, but no matter what my 9-5 is, I have always made time to develop my own brand. It’s still a work in progress, as I continue to learn that the more time I focus on my brand, the closer I get to my independence as a designer.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in couture. Every client is unique and I make clothing to fit them according to their individuality. I tailor menswear as well as womenswear, from suits to vintage treasures, and even home decor, jewelry and accessories. I make original pieces from children’s wear to bridal, from ready to wear to red carpet. What sets me apart from other designers is my attention to each client and my range of skills. Focusing on couture is an ambitious sector of fashion and requires much education and patience, which is a lifelong dedication.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was an introverted thinker, yet loved to socialize, create art, and was very involved with sports. Thanks to my parents encouraging my creative education and surrounded by a family of artists, I was able to express and pursue my creativity at an early age.
