Today we’d like to introduce you to Still Standing Out Entertainment.
Still Standing Out, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Still Standing Out (SSO) is an entertainment collective based in Los Angeles, CA. SSO was founded in 2014 by a group of like-minded individuals focused on entertaining the masses and giving back to the community.
Initially, SSO focused on promoting and hosting events. Now, we have expanded into a platform as an entertainment collective with emphasis on content creation and production, photography, music, and media.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
An obstacle we face is continuing through adversity. With personal trials and tribulations, we have managed to continue and not call it quits.
Everyone individually has had moments of walking away but somehow we managed to keep it all together. We all have common goals that drive our ambition. We want to make a difference in our community and we plan to leave a legacy.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Still Standing Out Media story. Tell us more about the business.
What sets us apart from other brands is each of our members bring something different to the table. We like to refer to ourselves as an Entertainment Collective because we’re literally a hub that focuses on Entertainment Media.
When we were just a promotion company, we promoted events throughout the city such as:
Belasco Nightclub, (Downtown LA)
Rooftop 3100, (Koreatown), and also hosted our own events.
While transitioning from a promotion company to an entertainment collective, we’ve been involved with marketing artists such as JstNTyme, Saeed (Live From Paradise) and Nick Freeze (Laconia Ent).
Within our Broadcast Media department, we created HotBox Wit Knox. Hosted by Knox, the show is set in a car where he conducts insightful interviews with an open dialogue about current subjects such as politics, sports, relationships, and much more. The show provides artists and creators a platform to promote their brands and art. We also have more shows in the works as well. Be on the lookout for those.
We are also involved within our community. Giving back is very important and we don’t do it for publicity but because we understand that everyone is in need whether it’s physical, financial, or emotional. During the holiday season, we provide those in need with lunch bags and hygiene packs. We’ve also worked with other brands such as “FavorFridays” with their community outreach.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We really don’t believe in “Luck” but faith and spirituality is really important to us. We’ve had multiple opportunities given to us by the Grace of God that’s helped us grow in this industry.
We are blessed to have each other. We are a family and no matter what we go through together or individually we’ll always have each other. We have to thank God for everything we have received thus far and for what’s to come.
