Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Adam.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m a self-taught artist born and raised on the gulf coast of New Orleans. I’ve always had the painting gene but spent my 30-year professional career with the trade specializing in architectural restoration. I opened my gallery almost 3 years ago in beautiful Laguna Beach and I’m loving every minute of it!
Please tell us about your art.
I’ve been painting abstract since a child. My color palette stems from the coastal blues, burnt skies, and rustic shoreline. The gulf coast and the west coast – where I’ve lived my whole life – really translates into my art.
I’m definitely a mixed-media artist painting on anything and everything. I love painting on surfboards, it’s a fun medium, and obviously canvases of all shapes and sizes, large format is great!
At the end of the day if my art puts a smile on someone’s face – I’m happy.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
The best advice I could give is that you don’t need money to be an artist. You can make art out of anything!
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My Gallery is located at 760 South Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. I also sell small and large prints, surfboards, and originals on my website.
I also have a donation/raffle ($25) that enters you to win an Original painting. All proceeds going to the fight against inhumane animal poaching! Learn More Here – https://goo.gl/fsXg2Q.
