Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie James and Melissa Lamb.
Stephanie and Melissa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We met in March of 2017 and our world hasn’t been the same since! Our shared love for cheese, alcohol and Beyoncé instantly bound our friendship. Now, we are on a new journey with Topa Talk. The goal of this podcast is to have fun, meet amazing people, and inspire our listeners.
This podcast is for entrepreneurs, goofballs and all-around badasses. We hope to encourage our listeners to chase their dreams while giving them practical tools and advice from the people who have done it! You can also expect episodes with just us talking about life, love, and everything in between.
Starting a podcast with a friend is definitely #goals. Has it been a smooth road?
Creating a podcast has been challenging and rewarding. Navigating the podcast world was completely new to both of us and tested our commitment. Challenges included; purchasing equipment, learning how that equipment works, sound editing, publishing on multiple platforms, recruiting guests, scheduling, and maintaining consistency. We have had a lot of fun recording, branding, connecting with listeners, and further building personal relationships within our community. This platform has given us the opportunity to be silly, have fun, express ourselves, and learn from others.
What else should we know about the podcast?
We are a podcast available on Spotify, iTunes and topatalk.com. We are an interview-based podcast sharing stories from our community. Special guests include business owners, entrepreneurs, and local personalities.
A point of pride for us seeing the support from the community and watching our relationships grow. With little resources and knowledge, we have been very ambitious with this venture. We are energized by the growing fan base!
In an over curated world, we separate ourselves by being our most genuine and authentic selves. Our episodes often include mistakes, bloopers, and cursing that others might leave out. Our social media strategy is to have fun and make connections without filtering, editing, or changing who we are.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We have encountered so many people who are willing to learn, share creativity, collaborate, and lend support. The city can feel overstimulating at times with so many fun events, life, and podcast. Our time management skills have been put to the test!
