Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefanie Cove.
Stefanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in Palm Beach, Florida, where I started in the hospitality business at the 5-star Breakers Hotel. I continued on to Syracuse University where I studied Hotel Management and psychology (I secretly always wanted to be an FBI agent, but that psychology certainly comes in handy!)
After college, I moved to Washington D.C. when the restaurant business there was just starting to heat up. I worked as a catering and private dining manager + then I ended up starting an off-premise catering company for one of the restaurants. This is where I learned the most…. even at one point managing the entire restaurant for a staff way older than myself.
Eventually, I decided events were more of my passion, and I wanted to get into the social realm of events. So I moved to Aspen and worked at the catering department of the Little Nell. After a few years, I was ready to do events in different destinations rather than the same property… so I moved to Los Angeles where I worked with another event firm for many years. In 2017, Stefanie Cove and Company was founded.
Has it been a smooth road?
Where to start! This business is incredibly challenging for so many reasons. At the high-end level, we are so super focused on the tiniest of details; we work around the clock. At times, we even drive ourselves crazy trying to control all these small details, vendors and guests.
Also while juggling many different events and personalities at the same time. We make a lot of magic while everyone else is sleeping… and make it all feel effortless so that they would never have any idea what time it took to get there.
We’d love to hear more about your business

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
It is a tough industry, but the silver lining is all of the wonderful people we get to work with. The colleagues, great clients and everyone else we meet on our travels. This makes up for harder times.
There is a lot of talent out there, but I love finding vendors we can collaborate with to bring a really fresh vision to the table for our clients.
