Today we’d like to introduce you to Soliél Lindsey.
Hi Soliél, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sol Rise Essentials began after having to make a major pivot due to personal health concerns. I had no other choice but to take time off from my Real Estate career to rest and focus on my healing process. Entrepreneurship has always been a dream of mine but I had only pursued it passively and part-time.
After my pivot and because of some traumatic events that began in my teen years, I decided to begin sharing my story and wellness journey with others. I do that through building a global community of resilient humans on the grow. We are the SolTribe, we have endured but choose to get back up again hence my business name, Sol (soul) Rise Essentials. My first name means “sun” in French so it’s actually a double play on words which truly lets me know that I’m on the right path. My business launched with our ‘Pack Light’ collection and that’s where the “sun” meaning comes in again – we bring light to situations, spaces and also aim to pack light emotionally, spiritually and physically.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We just launched in July 2021 and because I’m bootstrapping my business, personal finances took a bit of a hit. Sacrifice and strategy are part of the game and I’m in for the long haul so seeing the fruits of my labor is going to be priceless for my family and I! Being a parent who is the sole provider has its own challenges so you can imagine trying to bootstrap a business during a pandemic and inflation hasn’t been easy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sol Rise Essentials is a lifestyle and wellness brand that offers unisex affirmation apparel and accessories for the entire family. During some really tough times, I wore a silver ring that had the words ”SHINE YOUR LIGHT” engraved on it. That affirmation carried me through a lot so I wanted to offer that same support to other people on their healing and wellness journeys.
Our affirmation apparel empowers you to thrive on your best days and in between. In addition to our adult sizes, we recently began offering children’s sizes and that decision had a lot to do with my son. As an intentional Mother, I am doing a lot of inner work so that he doesn’t carry the same traumas that I do. Our affirmation apparel serves as a reminder of that work and also allows “the Littles” to spread even more joy everywhere they go.
I am proud that even though people don’t know what our “SolTribe” affirmation necklaces mean at first glance, they love the design and fall even more in love after they find out the meaning. I wear mine in rose gold daily. It brings me joy to know that people everywhere have the same necklace on and we are bonded not only by our unique experiences but by our tenacity to never give up. That’s beautiful and very inspiring to me!
Any big plans?
I am currently in the process of applying for grants and seeking a PR firm to really help take my business to the next level. Sol Rise Essentials also has a global [mental] wellness focus so I really want to get my affirmation merch in the hands of humans around the world that connect with our message and mission!
I am always seeking people to do a live chat with us for our Sol Seat Conversation series. If you or someone you know has a resilience story and you want to share how you’re now thriving, please feel free to reach me to be considered! The conversations have been very moving and I plan to continue this series so that people everywhere know that they are never alone on their journey. You can check them out on our IGTV.
