Meet Sly Jones of Eating Live with Sly in Playa Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sly Jones.

Sly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Within my journey to success, I have had to deal with many ups and downs. Originally from Houston TX, my journey started in a household of nine kids and two adults which was my mom and my aunt. Money was low and food was scarce. We would have to come up with creative ways to make food dishes with the ingredients we had at home. I was always the one to taste the food and let everyone know what I thought about it.

Being that we were from the poorer part of town when we went out to eat or to buy anything, we were always looking for the hook-up (hood price). That is why I incorporate the “Hood Price” and “I Eat where you Eat” in my narrative as these are the things that made me. I Eat where you Eat is from finding the local restaurants within your neighborhood or hood. I take pride in bringing or exposing great restaurants to my viewers. My goal is to bring happiness and good times all over the country one restaurant at a time.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some of the struggles I have had was finding a good editor and camera guy. Me and my business partner Tommy Limbrick from Limbrick Media Group started our food show with just the two of us. We were the camera guys, editor, directors and everything else. That was very hard for us but we were determined and failure was not an option! We had to go through at least four editors before finding the right fit as we were still filming and were starting to get pressed for time. Once we found the right guy, we marched full steam ahead.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We have two companies attached to our food show which are Limbrick Media Group and IWG. We specialize in food critiques and uncovering hidden gem restaurants all over the United States. What sets us apart from others is we utilize music, comedy and we are definitely unconventional.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
This is definitely a good place for a business like ours. We are in the film industry and there are so many people that are motivated and eager to be apart of something great.
