Meet Sherry Farrahi of Style Maven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Farrahi.

Sherry, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As early as I can remember, I loved clothes. Growing up, I couldn’t wait for the weekends when my mom would take me out shopping. I would be so prepared in order to optimize my shopping time. I would flip through magazines and put outfits together leading up to our shopping trips. I was always told how good I was at spending other people’s money, so I turned that into a business. In all honesty, I get such joy out of making my clients feel good, which in return makes me happy. Through my experience at Nordstrom, I saw how curated outfits could really make someone feel better. In college, the girls on my floor would come to my dorm room and ask for style/shopping advice. After seeing that so many people wanted my shopping help, I figured I would offer my services. Naturally, I was good at finding the best deals and outfits for people.

My closet organization and wardrobe consulting business was derived from encounters at Nordstrom. My clients would buy a great blouse or pair of pants from me but struggle with creating head-to-toe looks. After seeing this common theme reoccur, I started offering my closet assessment and wardrobe consulting services. I would shop their closets for pieces to create fully styled looks. From there, I would photograph the looks and create personalized style books for them, so that they could have peace of mind when it came to getting dressed. I take the stress out of getting dressed! But, for me, it all comes down to my care for people and how I love making them feel confident about themselves, no matter where they are at in their life. I love the small impact that I can make on my clients to feel more confident through their wardrobes. It really is beyond clothes, and that’s why I do it.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life doesn’t have a smooth road. My main struggle was moving from The Midwest to LA and building a new network, having no connections in such a big city. It can be challenging moving to a new city and not knowing anyone. I didn’t have one client when I moved here. It made me grow as a person because I really had to step outside of my comfort zone. There was a lot of trial and error, but I’m still learning.

Style Maven offers wardrobe consulting, personal shopping, and closet assessment/organization services. I strive to make my clients, regardless of their budget or location, feel confident with their personal style. I help develop my client’s style and take the stress out of getting dressed by providing personal styling and shopping services to clients who want to build their current wardrobes and enhance their overall style. Everyday I work to educate my clients to understand trends and fits while empowering clients to embrace their own unique personal style.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’d like to continue to expand my clientele. No distance is too far for me to travel to service my client’s needs.
