Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheri Bienstock.
Sheri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in the Hancock Park area. I graduated Rutgers Business School summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. I scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT’s, which earned me a full scholarship to law school. I graduated law school with a 3.9888 GPA. At the time in law there was a glass ceiling for woman and there wasn’t enough room for creativity and art in the corporate law setting I experienced. I wanted to work in a field where women could be all the way at the top of the industry with no ceiling at all and I also wanted to work in a creative/artsy way. Real estate was/is the perfect fit for me. I love what I do, which is masterminding getting top dollar for sellers and often presenting houses in a creative/artsy way. I started all the way from ground zero. I’ve worked my way up, one successful sale at a time. I now started my own brand The Bienstock Group and we’re an independent company (I was with Keller Williams for 11 years and I just went off on my own). I’ve sold the most houses in the 90036 zip code since 2009 (this will be our 9th year in a row #1 in the zip code) and we also sold the most houses last year and this year in area 18, which is Hancock Park. Last year we sold almost 100 million in real estate and we’re on target to do the same this year. Our proudest achievement is the 100+ five star reviews we have on www.zillow.com. Our motto is “we love what we do” and we love our clients too.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe very much in always growing and learning both personally and professionally.
When we hit bumps in the road, we get over them or we take a detour and head in another direction. I work with Steve Shull, a performance coach, for 5 years, and he’s inspired and encouraged me to keep growing. This year, we did leadership training with www.leadershiplabsny.com to transition our business from individually driven to team driven. It’s a blessing when there are struggles because that means opportunity to stretch and to grow personally and professionally.
The Bienstock Group – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a real estate company of engaged collaborative team members. We specialize in listing and selling homes for top top dollar with honest ethical representation and white glove service. We never leave a dollar on the table for our clients and we care a crazy degree about the people and the properties we represent. We’re most proud of our stellar reputation both among our clients and in the real estate agent community. What sets us apart is our commitment to doing an expert job, in an honest and ethical way, with white glove service and attention to detail start to finish.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moments of my career are each time we get a 5 star review from a client we represented. We have a video online of clients speaking of their experience working with us and hearing people speak of those experiences makes me proud. We recently invited clients to come speak so we could create a current testimonial video…11 clients came personally to share and each spoke for more than 20 minutes.
It makes me proud how satisfied customers are with our service. I take a lot of pride in doing great work that earns sellers top top dollar and that has them appreciate how all the myriad details are handled with expertise too. We love what we do.
