Meet Sharon Hakimfar-Tabibian of The Real Estate Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Hakimfar-Tabibian.

Sharon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After graduating from Loyola Law School in 2000 while working in a Beverly Hills tax law firm, I decided to seek my passion working in real estate. I obtained my broker license excited to aid my friends and family in their property transactions. Before I knew it, I started receiving dozens of referrals, most of who have now become my closest friends.

My life experience has made me a better broker in so many ways. As a wife and mother of 3 children, I look at properties differently from a decade ago. For example, when searching for homes for my clients who have young children, I always look for safety and security in a house. Are the kids’ bedrooms located on the street level? Are these bedrooms on a different level from the parents’?

My legal background has also been a great advantage in dealing with both residential and commercial transactions. Certain clauses in a contract can make a world of difference for my clients, make or break a deal, and save them lots of money and headaches in the long run. I foresee legal issues that may arise and advise such with my clients so we can have a smooth and successful transaction.

Has it been a smooth road?
Working is more like a hobby than a job for me. I love what I do, no matter how big or small the deal. Whether it’s a purchase, sale, or lease of a property, I love finding the perfect match for my clients. It’s a lot like being a matchmaker, except it’s finding the right home or investment property!

The road has been overall smooth and very enjoyable, except for the few times I have worked with dishonest and disloyal people. People think they will save money by trying to exclude their agent out of a deal. However, it only backfires against them.

Fortunately, there are more ethical people out there who appreciate my hard work and time. They are also smart enough to know that we live in a very tiny real estate community and our paths will cross again. These clients are loyal and make our work truly rewarding and fulfilling.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Real Estate Agency story. Tell us more about the business.
The Real Estate Agency is a boutique real estate brokerage firm specializing in residential and commercial transactions. We primarily work throughout Los Angeles county and do many off-market (“pocket”) deals.

My agents and I have a combined work experience of over 50 years in real estate. We dedicate ourselves to all sorts of clients, no matter how big or small of an investment they choose. We advise our clients what we think is best given their life situation. Whether a couple is going through a divorce or a business investor is looking to do a tax-free exchange, we are familiar with the tax ramifications and are here to help.

In the long run, our reputation is all we have. We are interested in getting to know our clients and detailed aspects of what they are looking for so we can best represent them.

We enjoy building lasting relationships and doing what’s best for our clients, because if our clients are happy, then so are we!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The real estate industry will continue to grow in California as the population significantly increases. However, given the significant competition among agents and the fact that most buyers and tenants are now internet savvy, many agents will seek a job outside the real estate sector.
