Meet Sharleen Shayan of Curiously Shar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharleen Shayan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sharleen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Coming out of college, I had the 9 – 5 job. It was something I didn’t really enjoy doing. While doing that, I sort of fell into being an influencer on Instagram. As I worked with more and more brands, I realized I needed a bigger platform to share with. I started a blog, Curiously Shar, and started sharing more and more. I realized it was something I really enjoyed doing. Unfortunately, I lost my 9-5 job and started my own business. Once I got everything completed, filed an LLC, made a website, everything, I realized it really isn’t something I want to do. This is when I started doing so much research on how to turn your blog into a business, and honestly, I am glad that I did! I love writing about whatever I wanted, help people that need it, and just meet new people!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been as smooth as I would like it to have been. There were so many ups and downs, so many people that didn’t want to support me through this because they thought I wouldn’t make it, but I did. I focused on the end goal, surrounding myself with people that actually supported me, and finally got to where I needed to be.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an influencer/blogger. I write about a lot, health and wellness, tips for blogging, and just fun facts about food in Los Angeles, CA. The thing I am most proud of is being able to start this blog. I have always got negativity from it, and when I wanted to start it, people said it couldn’t be done, but I ignored them and did it! And I think that is something super important that has made me so happy.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think some qualities I feel is important in my success is that go-getter mindset. Just being able to not listen to people when they are being negative and still going after my goals and taking that negativity and changing it to wonderful feedback and turn it on how to better myself.
