Today we’d like to introduce you to Shani Sibrian-Boyes.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began baking when I was 11 or 12 years old. I started with boxes of cake mix to make little chocolate cakes for my parent’s birthdays. Fast forward to 23, I started watching baking videos and began experimenting with recipes and different design methods. Pretty soon, my family couldn’t keep.up with eating my creations. In 2018, my husband and I decided to create Creepy Sweets; a business focused on making Halloween-themed cupcakes, cakes, and cookies.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge has been self-doubt. I didn’t go to culinary school, I’m self-taught in both the baking and business world. Therefore, I always have a nagging voice in my head. Fortunately, I have some amazing customers that keep me sane and inspire me to keep.pushing forward. I love receiving both good and bad feedback so that I can adjust where I need to.

At Creepy Sweets, we specialize in weird, scary, and Halloween themed cupcakes, sugar cookies, keto cookies, and cakes. We also offer non-creepy designs upon request for any occasion!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m not really sure whether I would have don’t anything differently because everyday has been a new lesson to improve my business and myself. I’m really happy with the progress we’ve gone through!
