Meet Selen Chandradev

Today we’d like to introduce you to Selen Chandradev.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Selen. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, one of my favorite cities in the world, by my loving parents. I started traveling overseas at a very young age because of my father’s job and fell in love with discovering new places and new cultures and meeting with new people.

By observation, I came to a realization that people’s lives and cultures are so very different yet most of the time we struggle with similar problems; relationships, self-doubt, survival and such. Naturally, I am a very caring human being who is very sensitive to energies, and I always find myself feeling better when I make other people feel better.

Since uplifting others is the most fulfilling to me, I would always direct my energy to taking care of others and help them heal! My desire to discover different worlds, and also discover myself and to pursue my dreams led me to move all the way across the continents, to the United States at the age of 17 leaving my family in Istanbul.

As I was adapting to this refreshing and sometimes daring Western culture, I obtained a degree in Business and pursued corporate jobs that America had to offer, and all the while diving deeper into my spirituality. One summer a childhood friend of mine was visiting from Turkey and funny enough, she was the one who took me to my first yoga class here in Los Angeles which was a Kundalini yoga class. I was not familiar with this type of yoga at all.

It was very challenging, and somehow I knew I wanted to keep up this practice and indeed I found my self in more alignment and tapped into more of who I am meant to be as my practice got deeper. Yoga is unity, and sure enough, through yoga, I united with incredibly inspirational people who became my chosen family and played a big role in my life, always supportive and encouraging, reminding me the power of authentic human connections that are based on love.

After many heart-opening experiences in my own healing journey and reconnecting with my soul, I awakened to my true purpose in life and decided to study Reiki Healing which is a Japanese energy healing art, and became a certified Reiki Master, eager to share this ancient healing technique with all. I have to express my gratitude to my teachers as my journey with them was magical.

Always seeking growth and expansion, I studied Crystal Healing and recently became a certified Crystal Healer. I now live in a “Crystal Palace” because I cannot resist the beauty and the positive energies these crystals emit, and I keep adding more to my collection which I use in my healing sessions. I have my own practice where I offer healing sessions with the intention to hold a safe space for people to be vulnerable enough to have transformational healing experiences.

I am also co-creating with Indigo Lab LA, which is an inclusive health and wellness brand that values unity and acceptance. Indigo Lab LA curates each and every event so uniquely and delicately to offer truly transformational experiences utilizing yoga, sound healing, Reiki healing, meditation and much more with a vision to create a community.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The most challenging experience has been being away from my family at a young age especially coming from a very supportive and caring family. This challenge though definitely made me stronger, so I am in gratitude. All kinds of different emotions came up while setting up a whole new life in a whole new country, and dealing with these on my own has not been easy but certainly taught me how to control my emotions.

This was my choice, and I knew it was not going to be all smooth, but the voice inside of me was so strong telling me to follow my intuition, I had to listen to it. It sure has been rewarding. This challenge has helped me grow immensely to be stronger so I can help heal others with a full and expanded heart. I believe it’s all about perception.

There is always going to be hardships along the way and how I look at it is that life does not happen to me, it happens for me, so every situation is happening for my own personal growth. When you shift your perception, you shift your vibration. Having said that, I have learned to observe the situations and the emotions that come with them instead of reacting immediately. This allowed me to be clear and to align with the solutions, claiming my power.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I offer one on one private healing sessions where I consult with my clients and customize each session according to their needs. I incorporate different modalities in my sessions such as guided meditations, sound healing, breath-work and chakra alignments. My Kundalini practice gave me a broader perception and understanding of how the energies work and how deeply the meditation can take you to an elevated state of bliss which compliments the Reiki and Crystal healing very well.

When I am connecting with my clients one on one, it is very important that I hold a neutral and safe space allowing them to be open to truly benefit from the healing and to amplify their healing experiences, so they can connect to their higher-selves and tap into their truths while they are in an easeful and peaceful state and in alignment with their highest destiny.

I also offer my Reiki services in private events, retreats, and charity events.

I am currently collaborating with Indigo Lab LA, offering my reiki healings in a group yoga class setting which my friend Kjord Davis leads on a weekly basis. These classes are truly transformational. The combination of yoga and different healing modalities such as reiki, and sound healing take your practice to a whole another level where you can dive deeper into your growth and expansion.

I am very excited to be partaking in the Indigo Lab Solstice retreat this summer which will be happening in beautiful Mt. Shasta. It will be an incredible experience. Please follow me on social media to find out more details.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
It is hard to pick one moment. I am honored and proud to be a part of Indigo Lab LA, to be able to co-create with such influential and open-hearted teachers who create transformational experiences and also I get to connect with this community of such enlivening and creative people who came together through these experiences. We all have something to teach each other and inspire each other. This happens organically in such a harmonious and high vibrational space.

Another proud moment for me is when I collaborated with Brandon Kelly of EcoWealth and EvergreenCoin to initiate a group meditation with the refugees at the Refugee camp in Kenya. It was a beautiful experience to see these people whom never meditated in their lives before to get together and meditate as I sent them distance Reiki. They were willing to do something positive for themselves which raises the collective vibration as we are all connected. You can find the video on EcoWealth’s YouTube page.

Also I recently participated, as a Reiki Healer, at a charity event that Make a Wish Los Angeles facilitated. I take pride in being involved in Charity events because the highest fulfillment for me is selfless service, and helping one another. We have got to give in order to receive. Balance is the key.
