Meet Scott Spraags

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Spraags.

Scott, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Originally from Chicago, I have lived across the state’s training in many dance styles including Ballet and Tap. After graduating from high school in Texas, I made the big move to California and joined the Young Americans, having the opportunity to travel around the world teaching and performing. Traveling for five years I saw, met and walked the lifestyle of so many different cultures and people, truly learning to never take what you have for granted, but to also never settle for less than you are. I am is an aspiring influencer focused on goals and ambitions that will find success and the light in any given situation and am ready to take everything that I have been taught for the stage and help inspire others in everyday life situations.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
To be honest, the biggest struggle has been believing in myself/ getting out of my own way. I am so fortunate to have had the life, the experiences, and the opportunities that I have. Being an artist, you are constantly facing so many external obstacles that adding yourself to that isn’t going to help. I was constantly living in a world of self-doubt and just not believing that I was good enough or worth the time and it wasn’t just in my professional life but it began to seep into my personal life as well. It took a lot of soul searching, self-reflection and surrounding myself with people who believed so much in me that had no choice but to start seeing it for myself.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a performing artist specializing in live entertainment, but starting to get into the TV/Film and Commercial world. I started dancing at seven and haven’t stopped since and am fortunate enough to be able to pursue it as a career. I’m most proud of the growth that I have had not only as an artist but as a human which then in turn was reflected in my craft. What sets me apart from others is my heart and my passion as well as giving back and making people feel something. I truly have been so BLESSED to have had so many amazing opportunities for as young as I am and have had nothing but an amazing support system my entire life that just continues to grow. So using the gifts that I have, I feel like it’s my way of saying thank you. I also feel as though my true purpose in life and on this planet is to make sure that any and everyone that I encounter feels loved, supported, seen, heard, and understood because there’s not enough of that.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are currently unknown, but I’m excited for what is to come. I’m going back to school just to further educate myself in order to expand

my thinking and to be able to help others. I’m looking forward to getting the chance to connect with people and to see how we all move forward after the pause.
