Meet Sara Nicolas of Sara Nic Productions in Valley Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Nicolas.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story…hmm. Well, I was born in Panorama City and raised all over Los Angeles county. I was confused about what I was passionate about at first. My family was very musically inclined so I tried to follow in those footsteps as a creative outlet. I remember there was a point where I fell out of love with being a musician. I’m not sure I was ever passionate about music, maybe more so passionate about being creative. My entire family has creative treats all five of my siblings can sing or dance, play sports, draw or make music… My grandma ALWAYS had her camera on her when we were growing up so I think she sparked something creatively in my from a young age. I currently work at Warner Brother Studios for Warner Bros Television, I mean how could it not be inspiring? The lights, the cameras, the sets, the people! I knew this was where I belonged, but It wasn’t until a little over a year and a half ago I had picked up my phone and decided to record my first videos. At last! My passion! After buying my first camera and equipment, I started my Instagram page. Where I worked on the (Warner Bros) lot allowed me to meet thousands of people… Coming across a lot of talented and creative individuals. Eventually and naturally introducing me to the world of networking and from there it just kind of boom. I haven’t stopped and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This road had had it’s pot holes and hills. From people telling me “you can’t do this” or “you can’t do that” to self doubt, to equipment upgrades and malfunctions, to just honestly trying to survive and make ends meet while making my dreams come true. It’s hard to stay motivated when at times it seems like the world is turning against you and I see it every day. It’s the struggle and it can be very real, but focusing on me and myself as a general human being has helped with my growth as an individual. I have my eyes on the prize and nothing can blur my vision.

Please tell us about your business.
Currently, I specialize in mostly Videography and dabble in photography. I make video content and/or photo content for people, businesses, or brands. I also have a series called A Daze Work that gives you a one minute insight into specific individual’s lives, from musicians to tattoo artists and clothing lines. I believe in the power of encouragement and support for one another. Making these shoots fun and keeping good energy and vibe helps my clients or collaborators to stay positive and gives them a bit more fuel in their tank as well as mine. I believe that is what sets me apart.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Recently I’ve had a huge shift in content going from docu-series to scripted content. Even co-writing, directing, and wrapping my very first short film – New Blood, which will be debuting and ready for festival distribution this year. As for my future, there are many big plans and projects in the works… Scripts, shoots, and collaborations! I’m looking forward to working and developing more and more content. We’re only going up from here!
