Today we’d like to introduce you to Samm Price.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a former professional dancer, health and fitness have always been important to me. I retired from performing around seven years ago and really eased up on my regime. I gained weight and my physical fitness declined. After a few years of ‘wanting to do better’ I decided it was now or never. I had lost my mojo and my confidence. I started working out with a trainer and began my physical journey. Finding new ways to exercise and seeing results gave me an appetite to learn more. I researched Personal Training Certifications and picked a course I felt would best suit me. I opted for a course with ISSA. Heavily focusing on the HOW and WHY we do rather than just the WHAT to do. It was important to me that I understood and could relay the correct information rather than just learn the exercises and I found ISSA really provided that knowledge.
The course was tough, words I hadn’t heard in years meant I had to pull knowledge from my dance training recalling muscle groups, body functions and other anatomy terminology. During my study, I started to understand what I was doing alone. I amped up my cardio, restructured my diet and lost 35lbs. All during the first shut down due to Covid-19 (without a gym!) I gained my certification and I started my own community of like-minded individuals ‘Pay The Price Lifestyle’ was born. My aim is to provide someone the knowledge they need to achieve their goals. Whether it be through exercises to complement their needs, diet and nutrition tips and something I truly stand behind accountability. Making sure they get it done! We all have to Pay The Price to achieve something, think of me as that Phone a Friend lifeline to help and guide you to the prize.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a business during this uncertain time has been quite the struggle. Stepping out of a full-time job that was impacted with closures due to Covid-19 was a road I wasn’t sure lead to success. But I truly believe in hard work and determination. There is no time to be scared, only an opportunity to be brave. To use your knowledge and goals to propel you toward success is something I’ve always believed in and practiced. This was no different. My purpose was to help others step into who they wanted to become. The excitement of that possibility was too rewarding to pass up or postpone. We’ve been in operation six months now and are excited for what’s to come.
