Meet Samantha Boudaie of Beverly Babysitters and Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Boudaie.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
To me, the perfect city is one in which everyone knows, and is comfortable with one another. There’s a sense of trust, and neighbors can rely on neighbors. Last summer, while babysitting for a good friend of mine, an idea came to me. I thought, whatever happened to neighbors lending each other a hand? Wouldn’t it be great if someone could call up their neighbor and ask them to watch their child for a little bit? Thus, Beverly Babysitters and Company was born. Throughout that summer, I worked tirelessly to build a website and assemble a team, among many many other things, while learning about my community, and what goes in to starting up a company. It has been a journey that I couldn’t be prouder of.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a student still in high school, I have found that one of my main struggles has been illiteracy in the field of business. With no prior knowledge in the workings of a startup, it’s been difficult to really gain an understanding of “business.” Nonetheless, it hasn’t been a big enough obstacle to stop me from pursuing something so exciting!

Beverly Babysitters and Company – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Beverly Babysitters & Company is a local babysitting service, made up of our own community members. Our services range from babysitting on the weekends, to tutoring, and taking field trips to the park together. As ambitious young adults, our goal is to both learn about business economics, as well as engage with our community.

A key factor that sets us apart from others, is our age and initiative. We take pride in our youthful desire for success, and the recognition we’ve accumulated thus far. Our desire for success keeps us going!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have been lucky enough to enjoy multiple proud moments as CEO of Beverly Babysitters & Company. Recently however, was the first time I was able to give out my business card. At a networking conference, I met several incredible business owners. When they asked for my card, I proudly handed them my freshly printed business card I designed a week prior. It made Beverly Babysitters & Company feel legitimate.
