Meet Sam Khan of Data Soft Logic in Van Nuys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Khan.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2004, a group of people including doctors, home health owners, hospice owners, and computer programmers had an idea to provide web-based business management software for medical professionals. They saw that home health nurses were most likely to benefit from this type of software as they were out in the field and having to carry around or reference paper-charts seemed like a burdensome problem that technology could solve, So they did!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been relatively smooth.

The biggest struggle along the way which seems to have gone away in more recent years was getting health professionals to adopt to the technology. We are talking 13 years ago when not everyone was inclined to using technology so freely. Once we overcame this hurdle in the first couple of years things have been pretty smooth and we have shown steady growth.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Data Soft Logic story. Tell us more about the business.
We provide software for Home Health and Hospice Agency management. Our specialty is technology, up-time, and accessibility.

We are set apart from our competitors because we specialize in software. Our competitors try to sell additional services, like billing management and consulting services. We stand firm in the belief that our clients should use any partners they want in these services and our only focus is to deliver the best possible technology solutions for our clients to use.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is about to play a huge role in our business. We have gotten lucky to re-write our software at the perfect time. Our biggest competitors have technology that is about 6 years old, which is really the maximum life-span of technology. At the same time, we are about to release a brand-new version of our software. This luck in timing means that we will be hitting the market against everyone with a major competitive edge.
