Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Francis.
Ryan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness. I remember being 15 years old and telling my mom I wanted to start cooking my own dinners because I overheard some of the older baseball players saying they eat grilled chicken and veggies. Haha, What kind of teenager is passionate about eating clean foods? Apparently, I was. I started to see the control I had over my body from what I did physically and how I ate, and I became obsessed with the results! It was like a light clicked and I was drawn in by the idea that I could challenge myself and become better because of it!
Fast forward 13 years… I was married now and had just started my business as a Personal Trainer. It took courage to get it going but I knew it was something I was crazy passionate about. Client after client I began to see not only was I doing what I loved but what I was doing was transforming people’s lives! In our first year of business, I met a client of mine who was in a dark place with his health and weight. He was in the high 300’s and was desperate for change. We started our journey together and all up he has lost upwards of 150 lbs!! And even more incredible, his mindset and outlook on life have completely shifted! Plus he became a very close friend of mine. Over years of business, I continue to get overwhelmed when I see my clients take control of their life again. It’s an incredible feeling.
In 2018 our business took a big shift as my wife, Bridget, became more involved in the day to day of everything. We also transitioned as a business to focus more on online training. And through that, we have had the privilege to train clients from Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, London, Argentina, Sweden, South Africa, the list goes on!
When Bridget become more involved she brought the element of women’s health to the forefront. Her health journey has been one that’s impacted the lives of many women. In 2013, we had our first child, our daughter, Sage. But tragically her health declined and we lost her only 10 hours after she was born. It has been the greatest pain we’ve ever faced. After giving birth and losing our daughter, Bridget walked through so much with her body. Her hormones were thrown completely off balance and it left her feeling so many symptoms and pains on top of the pain we already faced. Her health journey has entailed her road to balancing her hormones and as she’s studied more of that topic and spoken with women from around the world, this has become one of her biggest passions: teaching women more about their bodies and hormones.
This has all lead us to where our business is today as we work together to help every day people become healthy and thriving in life!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life never seems to be a smooth road. But that’s what makes it beautiful. We’ve definitely encountered many up’s and down’s within building our business. It can be a heavyweight when you’re working so closely with individuals who are struggling with their life and health. We build such incredible relationships with the clients we work with but that can often place more pressure on our shoulders. There are also so many opportunities in life and business when you can allow fear and doubt to take over. This has been something we’ve definitely faced and I can confidently say we have always come out the other side SO much stronger. Bridget and I both thrive off learning and leaning into growth. But I believe what has allowed us to lean in so strongly and not get taken out is the habits and routines we have in place within our daily life to both create healthy and sound bodies and minds.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
As a business, our goal is to help our clients to thrive in life through understanding their health and their body. Not only do we provide a workout program and meal plan that is designed to help our clients reach their physical goals, but we pride ourselves most on our coaching element. To us, health is not just your body but is body, mind, and soul. A lot of our clients come to us with the goal of weight loss and end up leaving us with more than just that — they learn how to overcome the greatest obstacle within their health journey which is their mind. Above all, we teach health as a lifestyle to ensure that it sticks for good!!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always carefree and social — I have always loved people! My mom always laughs about the fact that even by the age of five, I knew everyone by name in our neighborhood. I grew up in Dallas, Texas with an incredible family (I’ve got two brothers, who are twins!). My parents had me when they were 16 and 18 years old and are still together to this day!! They have definitely molded and shaped me to be who I am today. Through them, I’ve really learnt resilience in life no matter what comes your way, and I’m so grateful that was instilled in me at such a young age.
