Today we’d like to introduce you to Roy Yerushalmi.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Roy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was working as a builder and I had a good friend who worked with me in my previous life. He was working as a windows and doors sales person and was providing me with a great service. When his company was purchased by the competition, I was not getting them to the level of service I was used to. I tried a few other companies with the same results, I was disappointed and felt there was a need in the market.
As they say, “if you want something done right, you got to do it yourself “, so I did. I contacted my friend and asked him if he would like to work with me and start a windows and doors dealer with an emphasis on customer service, my friend was ecstatic.
Has it been a smooth road?
We started right smack after the 2009 recession so it was not a smooth ride. However, because we started in the most challenging market conditions we learned to operate lean and maximize every asset we had going for us. We had a hard time opening account because we were operating from a home office at first. I was still operating my construction business so there was a lot of challenging there as well.
In 2011 we moved to our current showroom by the department of building and safety of West Los Angeles and have been plowing away since. Last year we decided to make a change in operation which almost crippled us but was important to our future growth and mental health. We are a fluid business and we change and evolve with the market conditions using the tools we developed when we started.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with lion windows and doors – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a windows and doors dealership and we specialize in trade sales (I.E contractors, architects, designers etc) but we also sell to homeowners direct. We are experts in windows and doors sales and installation, however, we also offer door hardware, tile, stone and hardwood floors. We are known for our top notch customer service and quick response time even at the busiest times. We are very proud of our service, the products are made by manufacturers, the relationships are made by us.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Los Angeles is an amazing city, no doubt about it. It is a melting pot of all cultures, races, sexes and opinions and that what makes it so interesting. We meet people with ten different accents in one day, they each have an interesting story and an interesting project.
You can find EVERYTHING in this city, from art, music, sports (Go LA Dodgers!) and any kind of food from all the farthest corners of the world. We have the beautiful Pacific Ocean and all the houses with the huge windows that overlook to it. Bi-folding doors that bring the Santa Monica mountains into your living room and beautiful entry doors in line with the Craftsman style down in Venice beach.
The least favorite thing about this city has got to be the traffic. All those interesting people are driving interesting cars and are making your 2.5 miles drive into 45 minutes at the wrong time/direction of any given day (yes, Sunday too).
- Energy efficiency upgrades for all your windows and doors should cost around $15,000
- High quality, wood entry door should cost around $3500
- Aluminum bi-folding doors cost around $1000/LF but the installation alone can be $3500
