Meet Roxie Sound Healing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxie Sound Healing.

Roxie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you got started and how you got to where you are today.
My full name is Roxana (Persian origin), and it means bright light; dawn of the day. I am a certified sound healer practitioner and abstract artist. I’ve been practicing meditation for 11 years and connect the transcendental power of meditation to my sound healing sessions and spiritual practice. My sound healing sessions are heart focused and connect the mind, body and soul. I use the ancient Persian poet and philopher Rumi as a guide for each session. My background is also Persian. Both of my parents were born in Shiraz, Iran. Random Fact: I was born in Fargo, North Dakota!

My work encourages the free-flowing energy of love and a lightness of being from within. I live in Los Angeles. I am the resident sound healer at the stunning 1 Hotel West Hollywood location for their Full Moon Celebration. I curate elevated sound healing sessions at inspiring locations in Los Angeles, such as the historic Culver Hotel, Barakat Gallery among other special places. My journey began by first attending many sound baths when I was going through a transitional period. There was a particular powerful experience in Ojai. After countless sessions, I felt the call to share the incredible healing modality with others. Sound Healing changed my life and I am committed to share the primordial power of sound.

I’m inspired by “The Untethered Soul” by Michael Singer, the work of Louise Hay, Pema Chodron, Eckhart Tolle, Abraham Hicks, Phillip Moffit’s “Emotional Chaos to Clarity,” Einstein, David R Hawkins, M.D., and Michael Gaynor M.D.’s “The Healing Power of Sound” — among many other powerful forces.

Most recently, it has been a privilege to connect with so many beautiful souls from all around the world during the quarantine with my sessions on Instagram Live. I started the Live sessions in mid-March to allow everyone to come together virtually since we couldn’t be physically together. To help lessen the feelings of anxiety, allow for deep relaxation, and to let go of fear. It has connected us in such a profound way! It’s truly an honor to share the sacred art of sound healing.

Has it been a smooth road?
It may be a cliché, but life truly is a journey. We don’t realize at the time how certain struggles on our path will help us later. I experienced a dark period in my life and now know it was for me to grow and to be an even brighter light. My ‘dark night of the soul’ as it is often termed, allowed me to see my own strength. If I wouldn’t have experienced that time, I wouldn’t have discovered sound healing. I know it has helped so many and this knowledge has showed me that my personal struggle was for a purpose. I am grateful for it. As Rumi puts it, “The wound is the place where the light enters you.”

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the creativity and collaboration the city has to offer! I have lived in LA longer than anywhere else. I am from Southern California and have been here since I was five years old. LA is sunshine. It is where the creatives go to play. Over the last several years Los Angeles has become the epicenter for incredible art, design and food. It has been wonderful to witness this expansion. Like everyone, I dislike the traffic, but is worth it in my opinion!
