Meet Roman Norfleet of Inner Ashram

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roman Norfleet.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Roman. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from Joliet, Illinois. A preacher’s kid. I moved to LA in 2012-13 with a bandmate to try to “make it” as artists. Through the many trials and tribulations of living in LA, my life took a spiritual turn. I came out of dark times with the practice of Bhakti Yoga, a new found love for God and a deeper desire to serve humanity and the planet.

I now create music for more devotional and inspirational purposes, am a sound bath practitioner and run an inspirational/spiritual media and product company called Inner Ashram.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not smooth, I was basically homeless when I moved here. Lived in airbnbs and from my car for some time. When I finally found a place, it was in Korea town. My car was constantly vandalized, no parking, my building was terrible in terms of everything never working, health issues, stress… the list continues. Me and my bandmate decided to do music separately, but are still best friends. It was just and overall emotional and stressful time. I didn’t know what my purpose in life was anymore. Working a dead-end job for a while. Still trying to “make it”…

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Inner Ashram is so special to me because it encompasses everything I’m about and love to do all while helping and serving people for a Higher Purpose is the backbone.

We have a podcast, Inner Ashram Podcast. We are also selling music, handmade gifts and exclusive merch with much more to come, such as books!

We are in not competition and are not aiming to be set apart from others, rather we are here as another source for quality media and products that are centered around the uplifting of consciousness and spirituality. Inner Ashram is simply a manifestation of my service to God and humanity.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Right now, we are only online. But LA is awesome with a great network and resources!
