Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodman “Rodddzilla” Davis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rodman “Rodddzilla”. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
A celebrated personality, host, designer, and tastemaker that has both hands in the complete gamut of LA/Miami’s artistic endeavors ranging from event production, artist management acting/modeling, visual styling and creative direction and guerilla marketing. Between my being a sports PR manager, being behind the scenes and creating dope experiences has always been my passion along with fashion. I’ve been throwing parties since I went to Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and stayed on the creative side since. I moved to LA almost two years ago now, fresh out of Broward County Fl. to expand my horizon.
Has it been a smooth road?
Los Angeles IS NOT SWEET! Haha! But thats just like any major city in the U.S. A lot of people come from different states looking for opportunity; it can definitely be a culture shock to most coming from small towns. One of the hardest struggles along the way is finding YOUR tribe. You can easily get lost in the sauce with what you think is the right crowd and end up losing yourself in the process. Try your best to stay grounded & when you do find genuine friends who hold you accountable. “KEEP EM AROUND”
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rodddzilla – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I produce, create, and consult with artist/agencies on creative endeavors, events, licenses and branding, when Im not partnering with brands, I’m looking for vintage prints/fabrics for my random merch drops or running my podcast (F*ck Going Out) with my partner in Florida, Aaron J. Jackson. Although I am a people person, I consider myself intimate, not friendly. I treat clients and potiential-clients like they are my family. From the janitor to the Creative Director. No matter what job site I am on that day, I’m going to have our best interest in mind. I feel a lot of creatives are just caring about “chasing the bag” instead of the well being of their clients. The reward for good work is more work, & I’ve been getting more work just by being myself and adding some southern flare to any project I’m involved in.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Los Angeles is the weather! Coming from Florida we only have two seasons! Summer and Hurricane season (Haha) so its nice to live in a state where I can finally see snow without having to go too far. The Food is awesome here as well. I’m vegan so the options doubled since moving out here! I don’t even think I eat at the same place twice a month. Lol! Everyday is basically location scouting for me so I’m always enjoying the architecture while exploring the city. On the downside of LA, the homelessness out here hurts my heart sometimes. I really want to plot and lend a helping hand in a fun creative way to get the youth involved. Everything closes at 2am out here! Thats usually when I wanna leave the house for a late-night snack lol. The people can be “Holly-weird” but who isn’t?! ALSO! I haven’t found any good Jamaican food spots out here so if ya’ll know any hit my DM’s for suggestions!
