Meet Rocio Beltran

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocio Beltran.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I loved taking pictures everywhere I went BUT I got more into photography to deal with pain. I lost my close friend someone I was in love with to suicide and photography became my therapy. Photography took me out of a depression I didn’t even realize I was in. The more I took photographs the more and more peace I found within myself to move on with my life.

Please tell us about your art.
I started taking pictures of nature and or anything I saw beauty in. All of it was in hopes that anyone would see the beauty in it as I did. To see through my eyes. Slowly I got into photographing people to show different types of beauty and to show their strength in their vulnerability. I hope that what people take away from my photos is that, just because you don’t see beauty in something doesn’t mean it’s not there, take a moment to step back and actually see the beauty don’t just look at it. Feel it and see it! My art work comes from my heart and I hope everyone sees that and feels that.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Supporting each other is a great way to connect with other artist. Following each other on social media and maybe working together on a project can help with the connection aspect. Photographer with model is a good example of two artist connecting.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
