Meet Roberto Villagomez of PEHVAC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberto Villagomez.

Hi Roberto, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

This is a question I get very frequently. The truth is that I come from a family of Plumbers. I was born and raised in Monterrey Mexico. As a child, around the age of 5, I started helping my dad in his plumbing
business, which kickstarted my love for the Plumbing Trade.

Life is unpredictable and my dad passed away at the age of 42. As the only child, I was forced to be the head of my house. Due to financial difficulties I migrated to the US, at the age of 18 . As soon as I
arrived I got into many trades. I am now 35 years old, and it’s been quite a journey since I arrived to Cali. With nothing to my name but a dream for a better tomorrow! From jobs like Jack in the Box, to loading
and reloading trucks, roofing etc. I landed at a small bussines where I was a warehouse assistant for a construction company. Working in construction made me happy and close to home. Being around tools and equipment always reminded me where I came from. Eventually I was offered an opportunity to go to school to learn the trade. I’m not going to lie; the language barrier made things a little more complicated but a dictionary and a translator device were my best friends. As time went in I gained the experience and confidence to start to work on the side on Saturdays and Sundays… Yes, living the dream but without much sleep.

However, I would never trade all the experience I gained over the years for all the sleep I lost on the way. I would say that I’m truly living
the American dream. As now the CEO of a small, very successful family owned and operated air conditioning company called PEHVAC. We are located at 9525 Slauson Ave in the city of Pico Rivera, CA 90660. In addition, we also have an Air Conditioning Store and a Classroom where we provide training to the younger and older guys that are seeking to get into the TRADES.

Being in the trades and becoming a craftsman in what has opened many doors for us. Not only locally but across the country. I always
encourage everyone, young and old to look into the blue-collar life and the trades. This field allows for an honest way to make a living and to
never stop DREAMING and LEARNING. The hardest part is to visualize a goal but once achieved it is worth it.

My name is Roberto Villagomez and this is my story, I dreamed it into reality. #TRADESSTRONG in Los Angeles and in the near future, all over the USA!

Never stop dreaming and growing!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing good comes easy. This journey has not been easy. In life, I believe we are forced to face many obstacles. Not knowing how to manage
a business, has been the hardest obstacle and learning experience. From underbidding jobs, to not getting paid, being robbed at our place of
business and lack of workflow, it’s been a beautiful journey that I would definitely re-do over and over no question asked. The road is never smooth but the end destination is.

As you know, we’re big fans of PEHVAC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We mostly do Heating & Air Conditioning but we also offer Insulation, Solar, Plumbing and Electrical. We subcontract work for the Gas Company. Little fun fact: i love antiques and I gain the title of a Gas Appliance Expertise. We also do Home Energy, Efficiency Testing and Energy Consultations to help home or business lower their utility bills by educating them about what exactly air conditioning means and our
business slogan is #Make The Best out of your system. We know that there is always room for improvement and it is our guarantee that we will deliver. We strive to achieve those goals and always promise full satisfaction, guaranteed!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My fondest memories are growing up with a plumber dad. Remember valuing the hard work and little time he had. All the sacrifices he made for us to have a better life. Thinking back, I valued little things like going to watch a movie or eating a burger with him.
