Meet Robert Kyler of Milk Room Vintage x Luxury Streetwear x Sneakers in Woodland HIlls

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Kyler.

Robert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
2020 is a historical year in history filled with discomfort, tragedy, and revelations. At the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, I left Los Angeles back to my home in Washington so that I could be with my family and adjust my strategic plan. In the process, my Milk Room co-founder Greg Monterossa encouraged me to fly back to Los Angeles because when there is massive change, there is also a massive opportunity. During our exploration, our passion for fashion arose and we realized that the culture of fashion, music, and sneakers is nowhere to be seen in the 818. Greg and I decided that we would challenge ourselves to open up this business in 30 days and the Milk Room was born. We are located on Ventura Blvd. and Fallbrook right next to the infamous Nats Diner. The Milk Room carriers the hottest brands in the 818 such as Off White, Yeezy, Fear of God, Louis Vuitton, and more. In addition, we carry true vintage band, pop culture, sports, pop culture, and more gear. Our sneaker selection has a bit of a twist to it; we pride in carrying custom sneakers.

Has it been a smooth road?
With every journey there are obstacles; however, compared to previous ventures, the Milk Room has felt right. To state the obvious addressing the problem of health safety has been a bit difficult; however, the state of California and the CDC provides a plethora of guidelines that have helped us adjust. As a minority business, the struggle has been little to none because change is finally occurring and the community is here to support our journey!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Milk Room Vintage x Luxury Streetwear x Sneakers – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
The Milk Room is a Vintage, Luxury Streetwear, and sneaker boutique. We carry the hottest brands in the 818 such as Off White, Yeezy, Fear of God, Louis Vuitton, and more. In addition, we carry true vintage band, pop culture, sports, pop culture, and more gear. Our sneaker selection has a bit of a twist to it; we pride in carrying custom sneakers. Our air forces range from Luis Vuitton Leather to Dodger designed Air forces. Another unique offering we allow is for customers to sell or trade pieces in the collection that they no longer want. If they choose to consign, we provide them an online portal to track the status of their items. This empowers our community to also earn cash in a time of struggle.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about the city of Los Angeles is that it teaches you how to survive. People have massive opportunities to achieve their dreams in LA; however, it depends on how much an individual is willing to persevere because the other side is not pretty. As 2 Pac would say, “you either die or live in LA”. What I dislike about LA is that most things are transactional. My grandparents were immigrants from Mexico and my family’s roots are from a small farm town where my Grandpa started his venture of a Cherry Orchard. That small-town attributes: slow-paced and less transactional still have a place in my heart.
