Meet Rob Leines

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Leines.

Rob, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up in Appalachia, I was surrounded by Bluegrass and southern roots music. Coming from a musical family inspired me to play music later on.

As a welder and fabricator, I moved out west to work in the oil industry with the oil rigs on the Pacific. The work I was doing encouraged a raw and grittier sound to the music I was writing.

After a few years of traveling and working as a welder, I decided to take music more seriously. I found great local players and hit the ground running. Very lucky to have played around 100 shows last year with the release of my first album “Bad Seed”. We are currently in the studio recording new tunes with lots of live dates to come this year.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Anyone that has told you their road in the music business has been smooth sailing is a flat out lying SOB.

Writing and performing your own music leaves you extremely vulnerable. Let’s just say you grow some thick skin.

From rejection and disappointment to some drunk in the audience telling you what they think you should do different….you start to just do you. Musically, I do what I want, when I want and folks seem to gravitate toward authenticity (and the merch table 😉 )

What else should our readers know?
Here at Rob Leines Inc., we strive to create a rowdy show and a safe haven for all walks of life distinguishing diversity to party hardy and have a good time. We break the mold combining riff driven songs with nonfictional stories of the road and my personal life. What sets us apart from others you ask? Come to a show!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
“I don’t know what I’m running from, all I know is I’m chasing what’s to come.”
