Meet Rikki Valentina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rikki Valentina.

Rikki, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was six years old I saw a girl sing at my godmother’s wedding, and something about what she was doing Inspired me so much from that moment on all I wanted to do was sing. There has been a lot of ups and downs working with different people and figuring out who I want to be as an artist but you have to go through the learning process to mold you into the person that you are supposed to be. I have now discovered that I am not only a singer, but I am also a songwriter and have a story to tell.

Has it been a smooth road?
There have been many people who have taken advantage of me and don’t have the best intentions set for me. There have also been people who I thought were my friends, but in the end, they were just in it for personal gain. Every step in this industry is a big learning process, and I find myself growing exponentially through each twist and turn.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am an independent singer/songwriter who has many stories to share with people through the only way I know how, music. I just finished creating my song April Fool, which I had the privilege of not only singing and writing but also producing and arranging the music as well. For that. I am very proud of myself. My biggest thing that I write about is the downside of social media and the impact it has on our generation. I also think its important to address issues that everyone is afraid to talk about, such as depression, anxiety, and self-concept.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have a love-hate relationship with Los Angeles. For someone who has to drive from the valley to the city all the time for auditions, sessions, and tapings it can be pretty draining constantly at the wheel. But, when I do get a second to relax in the city it is quite enjoyable and you can never be bored. I think that my favorite thing about Los Angeles is the diversity of food, I am a big foodie and love to try new things. I also enjoy going to the beach, how lucky that everything is just 15-55 minutes away lol.
