Today we’d like to introduce you to Ravi Ajeet (Brandon Spratt).
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ravi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Yoga and meditation is my medicine and to share the practicality behind spirituality is my path. Since I was in my mother’s womb, I’ve been influenced by yoga. By the time I was about 4 years old, I attended my first yoga class. Since then I have been on a journey of self-realization… both through challenges, grace and good luck.
Yoga and meditation were always apart of my life, but I never actually taught it until my mid-20s… Self-discovery, meditation and yoga was always just a hobby… I actually went into the film and entertainment industry in Los Angeles and achieved success as being an assistant to producers, directors, famous celebrities, executives and entrepreneurs…
Even though I thought I had a pretty good head on my shoulders, I let the influence of a lot of money and my own deep lingering insecurities overpower me and make some regrettable choices… I lived in fear more than love which created a self-sabotaging effect. Eventually, my choices left me homeless for a year on the streets of LA… While I was homeless, I finally surrendered and just asked The Universe, “What do you want me to do?”
In total hopelessness and tears, heard that subtle whisper say one word, “Yoga.” That was all. In that moment, everything made since – everything. I knew that was to be my focus. From all of those self-help books, I’ve read the various teachings I’ve listened to from countless spiritual teachers & leaders… It was now time for me to go on my own journey and actually integrate it all.
So I did just that. I got back on my feet, was led to a yoga studio where I met my teacher, Priya Jain and became the manager of her yoga studio and began learning much deeper into yoga and meditation – became certified and juggled multiple jobs to stay afloat.
Once I had the apartment, the extra things, money and rebuilt my life, I knew it was time to go onward, to see the world – so instead of the Universe ripping out everything from under me again, this time I willingly let everything go and moved into just a backpack and set out to see the world.
The journey of traveling around the world has proven to be the best and most challenging experience. Each month I had a new home, traveling to wherever that whisper leads me. I spent some time in Bali where I was teaching workshops and doing group facilitation healing meditation circles.
Now, I have begun a wonderful and long-term commitment with my business partner Carmelo Aresco and join his company, Carma Healing, where we will be creating and implementing many projects together. Currently, we are working on… an app, a retreat center in Mexico, expanding our existing wellness spa in West Hollywood and much, much more.
Has it been a smooth road?
The journey through life has smoothed out with time. I seem to go through phases where life is really challenging then utterly graceful. However, in reflection, all of those challenges led to incredible lessons, wisdom and teachings I needed in order to advance in my spiritual development. I think when each one of us looks back on our lives and we observe our challenges and struggles it led us to where we were meant to be… it just takes awakeners to see the broader reason behind the things we experience.
It’s a bit challenging to even pick out the most challenging of situations…
Overcoming homelessness was my first great obstacle to overcome. Even though I was completely hopeless, I was able to see that twinkling light at the end of the tunnel. I kept reminding myself that this isn’t permanent and that all things change…. even the mountains. It may take time, but I felt comfort in knowing this.
Another challenge was taking that leap of faith, trusting that I would be guided the entire way, as long as I got out of my way… Traveling the world for 8 months pushed me the farthest I’ve ever been out of my comfort zone and thank god! From escaping Bali’s exploding volcano, Mt. Agung, to living in the slums in Chennai, India – I learned how to survive, to be grateful to so many luxuries I always took for granted and to be forever humble.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Carma Healing story. Tell us more about the business.
Carma Healing is a business that supports other healers do what they do best – be of service to those who need unconditional love and support. We create an environment that supports their personal development through yoga and various alternative meditation techniques. This is important to us because we want to empower our clients to raise up, be empowered, see and feel their own strength, will, positivity and cultivate their own enthusiasm for life to reawaken from within.
Then we allow our clients full surrender by deep energetic healing work using bodywork (various massages), reiki, pranic healing, sound healing, essential oil therapy, past life regression and hypnotherapy. We specifically specialize in retraining our client’s minds through these techniques so they can see the miracles of life all around them.. after all, the definition of a “miracle” is ‘a shift in perception’… it’s really that simple. As long as our clients are willing to do the work (at least 50%), we can do the rest.
As a company, we are most proud of the courage of our clients. It takes true courage to walk a path of self-realization and we honor their process, knowing it from a visceral point of view.
Many healers out there will tell you this or that… but when we receive advice, even from Ph.D. therapists, we still question them. Instead of telling our clients what to do to fix their lives, we simply provide and teach tools that help them to make decisions for themselves. This approach increases our client’s confidence, decision-making skills and allows for true, long-lasting transformation.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe BIG shifts will happen in our industry. We are coming into a new era, a new time where people are becoming more open to alternative and holistic options. The west and the east are merging more and more.
In ancient times when you went to the doctor for an ailment, they would evaluate your emotional states, belief system and prescribe meditations, yogic exercises, herbs and even teach you about the power of your mind… Then the kings and rulers wanted to have the power of the people and banned knowledgeable information from the common people… thus our dive into darkness was birthed.
While we will always have challenges in life, I believe many positive changes will occur over the next decade in the holistic health and wellness industry.
