Meet Randi Rossario of Good Day Goals and Oh So Radio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Rossario.

Randi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After being involved in an auto accident in 2018, I was forced to stop performing with my band, Rosie and the Fellas. During this time, we were touring and featured on Viceland TV but I was diagnosed with post-traumatic epilepsy.

Prior to all of this, I established my internet radio station Oh So Radio. It’s a Detroit favorite. We run just like a traditional radio station. Career-wise, my radio career started in terrestrial radio as an account exec. I learned the radio business and left because they didn’t believe in the internet or at least have the foresight that I did.

Fast forward again to November 2018, I released my 2nd book “Good Day Goals Workbook”. It was received great. I wrote the majority of the book on my phone and did a major change after having a convo with my friend/mentor in my mind, GLC. One night he was in Detroit and we really talked about my story. I grew up in Detroit. Was raped and impregnated at 17 and heartbroken after sudden tragedy at 21. My fiancé was killed by a drunk driver as I waited for him to bring me gas on the side of the road.

G told me people needed that story, so I rewrote basically the entire book.

After that, I released an undated planner and meditation book. Now we are launching our app September 2019

During this time, I’ve started a self-care line as well called My SelfCare Box. I promote self-care and wellness on social media a lot and just want to show people how to love themselves

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a rocky road, everything I worked for was snatched from me after my accident. I lost my home, my band and career momentum. I also had major adjustments to my health. I have migraines almost 4-5 days a week but I’m just thankful to be alive.

Please tell us about Good Day Goals and Oh So Radio.
I’m known for making people feel good! My social media cousins get a new video almost daily promoting wellness. As a life coach, my experience and approach sets me apart. Often, people of color are shut down by the therapy stigma or getting help. I show them I’m relatable and trustworthy.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Going to my aunt’s house on Detroit’s Westside. I loved seeing my cousins and Westside friends. I lived on the Eastside and went to school over there. Once, while hanging with my friends on the west, we went doorbell ditching. Basically, we’d play a game of ringing the doorbell and running. Well, this particular house we decided to approach had someone that was ready for us. We rang the doorbell and jetted down the block. The homeowner got in the car and chased us. We ducked and dodged. We ran into a backyard and the driveway light came on darn motion lights. We all got caught and put on punishment. I just went home lol, I wasn’t grounded there. That was a fun day
