Today we’d like to introduce you to Rami Sahhar.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rami. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It has been a journey. I’ve been to Amsterdam when I was about 15 or 16 years old. Yes, I know I was young and how could I have possibly went on my own. Here’s the story: I told my parents that I wanted to travel with my friend who is german, to his home country. We were supposed to be in the outskirts of the city and with not much to do. Little did my parents know that we had planned an Amsterdam trip that was organized with the help of my friend’s parents. yes. lol.
We got fake ID’s and hopped on a train to Amsterdam where we stayed for a week.
Being in Amsterdam for a week then going back home, I started to visualize what legalization would look like. I noticed how things were interconnected in Amsterdam and the referrals from place to place was a thing.
Fast forward a couple of years later, I decided to move into the loyalty space within the cannabis industry. I felt like current loyalty companies were lacking and started to spam people with traditional text messages that contained cannabis deals.
We decided to create an app for cannabis consumers to collect points at their favorite dispensaries. I then thought that the app needs more value. More incentive. That’s where I thought of connecting local food & entertainment businesses to the app, to make it harder to opt-out or not use than any other loyalty program in the space.
Here we are today with a loyalty program with almost double the conversion rate of any other program in the market. We bridge the gap between the community and its dispensaries as well as making sure the end consumer has what they need at their fingertips.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Creating something from scratch is never easy. There are silent goals that a person needs to achieve in order to prove to himself/herself that he/she is capable before even embarking on the journey. It’s all mindset.
The Struggle includes a lifestyle where you are risking and sacrificing what you have or might be able to have in order to get to where you want to be. That is the struggle, the umbrella that covers sleepless nights, family members not believing in you, losing friendships and maybe sometimes your thoughts. It is all a part of the journey and once started, you are closer to the finish line, keep pushing.
Please tell us about your work. What do you guys do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
We drive dispensaries revenue and make sure they kindle their engagement with their customers through a method that does not spam or bother them.
For consumers- We are known as the app that the cannabis consumer downloads to receive relevant deals from their favorite dispensaries, collect loyalty points and in addition get local food & entertainment coupons with a close distance of their dispensary.
For dispensaries- we are known as the loyalty program needed to keep retaining and incentivizing customers to buy more and more often.
What sets us apart from others is that we built the technology to fit the end consumer’s needs knowing that if we got that right, we will drive them to the sale at a retailer and increase their top-line revenue.
What were you like growing up?
Always have been into sports, mainly tennis, jui jitsu & basketball. I used to play the piano as well.
A lot of energy and with no siblings- I had a lot to do lol. I was a curious kid, always was confused at how justice was not served in many situations of life and why things were the way they are.
Always nice and kind to others in need and the elderly. Just how I was raised by my mother and grandparents.
