Meet Rachel Gabriel of Rachel’s in Manhattan Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Gabriel.

Rachel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started making my own overnight oats right at home, measuring out all of the ingredients each time. I really liked them and I finally found a breakfast my fiancé would eat. He was known for skipping breakfast, so when I discovered he loved overnight oats, I was making them nightly. Overnights oats were something we both loved, so I tried to find a ready-made overnight oat mix at the store to save time in the kitchen. I tried soaking nearly every flavored oatmeal out there and was disappointed that nothing turned out just like mine. I found myself back in the kitchen measuring out each ingredient any time we wanted overnight oats. I took time and in our busy lives, I needed it something convenient. It was from this Rachel’s brand evolved. We were the first to market with a ready-made overnight oat mix and are now seeing other brands entering the space.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth. Breaking into the food industry with a new product is probably the biggest challenge I have ever faced. I introduced a product when most people didn’t know what it was. I was turned away many times by retailer buyers and manufacturers. This only motivated me to keep going.

Please tell us about Rachel’s.
At Rachel’s Brand, we were first to market overnight oats. We manufacture a certified organic line of overnight oats called Rachel’s overnight oats. We currently have three flavors cinnamon raisin, pumpkin spice and original. Our products are Organic, gluten-free, vegan and have no added sugars or preservatives. If you compare to other oat products on the market, you’ll find sugar, lots of sugar. Our mission is to provide a great product that isn’t packed with sugar or junk that isn’t good for you.
