Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Eisenbise.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ben. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a lifelong classic car aficionado, expert, and journalist, I’ve always been in search of the perfect roads in which to enjoy my classic cars. California has a seemingly endless supply of driver’s roads combined with perfect weather conditions, especially here in Southern California.
For years, I took to these roads regularly, always in search of new routes and forgotten treasures. Occasionally I might pass by a car club or group of cars, and think to myself, “This would be more fun with a community of fellow enthusiasts.” That’s why I started The Professor Run. I wanted to share these routes and these experiences with others in the burgeoning Southern Californian car culture.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not all of the roads are smooth. Our biggest challenges are avoiding pot holes and errant wildlife.
Please tell us about The Professor Run.
At The Professor Run, we offer driving tours on different remote routes throughout California on a regular basis. We have one-day, two-day, and three-day tours to fit every schedule and every budget. While some car tours are offered by others annually, The Professor Run happens every month, providing regular participants an opportunity to give their cars the exercise that they need. Although we are the most enthusiastic about classic cars (think 1948-1973), The Professor Run welcomes all years, makes, and models of cars, making for a diverse and often eclectic group of vehicles.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I’ve been in love with cars since the womb. I have some Super 8 film of my mom driving in autocross eight-months pregnant with me! I remember sitting on my dad’s lap as a toddler and steering his Jaguar E-Type and thinking, “This is the most fun possible.” I had a matching pedal car that I drove the wheels off of. I have somehow managed to sustain that bliss into adulthood.
