Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Road to success can never be smooth, it has many obstacles. When I came to the USA, everything changed for me. I thought I would be able to secure a job easily with the help of my prior experience and proficiency in English. But things never go as we plan. I faced rejection at multiple job interviews despite having work experience. I have seen those days also when I had no money. Those days I even worked at a local DVD company for just $6 an hour. After that, I joined a computer company in Cleveland, OH which was a new experience for me. Things actually started to change when I began working for another IT company that specialized in databases and data recovery. Working in Los Angeles was like the fulfillment of my dream. But the company decided to open an office in Silicon Valley and wanted to transfer me there. This was the point where I decided to leave the job and start my own company. So, finally, I started my own IT company- later will be known as Platinum Investment Group. In the beginning, things were really difficult and I was left with no money because whatever I had was already invested in business development. But hard work, strong will power, and perseverance always kept me going. I firmly believed that in order to achieve something, you have to work hard. After all the ups and downs, today our company which deals in Information Technology and the latest technological inventions is doing great.
Please tell us how have you started your business.
I started with a small IT company in America and within just two years of its work, we have already worked with the United State Senate, Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, LA superior court and etc. We have received an official “thank you” letters from these government organizations. This makes me feel really proud. Today, our IT Company possesses the most advanced technologies and equipment and our work has received recognition from the top government organizations. Another project that became very successful is manufacturing portable, external SSD drives. Our product delivers 3-4 times faster data transfer speeds than conventional spinning hard disk drives. However, I am an entrepreneur by profession and a sports person at heart. My real passion lies in Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing. I always wanted to be a sportsperson and now I am realizing this unfulfilled dream by supporting deserving athletes to make their career in sports.
Do you feel like Los Angeles city is a good place for businesses like yours? If someone was just starting out, would you recommend them starting out here? If not, what can our city do to improve?
Los Angeles is very dear to me and it’s a great place to set up a business. I am not saying this because I personally like Los Angles. It’s a fact that LA is a city with big opportunities. The city has a great technology community and it hosts several events and conferences for people to connect across industries. For tech businesses and startups, such interaction is really important to keep up with the marketplace, as well as to find new talent and business partners.
