Today we’d like to introduce you to Piera Blodwell.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Fashion has always been my passion of mine. Being Italian, I started at 16 working for Giorgio Armani in Italy. I started developing a passion for style and beauty. Moving to LA in 1992 I realized that all celebrities needed access to beautiful couture clothes and I started my PR company with high end designers from Italy such as Missoni, La Perla.
After opening my showroom in Beverly Hills, I started dressing for Halle Barry and more exposed them and styled them directly gaining their confidence and friendship.
Since then I kept on expanding and right now I’m located in a beautiful 5,00o sq. ft. location in Downtown Los Angeles. I started collecting, since 1992, one of a kind samples from couture designers. Now my collection is more than 20,000 samples, from gowns to shoes to belts to jewelry and more.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has been a lot of perseverance and definitely has not been a smooth road with a lot of competition, but it has been a challenge for me and after 30 years I can say I’m very proud of what I have achieved.
PRB PR – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company is a PR company which caters to the entertainment industry from celebrities to tv shows to videos and movies. I specialize and I’m well known for exposing celebrities to new designers, new styles and new trends. I had successfully achieved many of our goals in my business and dressing celebrities from Sharon Stone, Julia Roberts, Halle berry and Johnny Depp etc…
What set apart my company from others is, I’m the first company in LA of 30 years in the business and I’m proud of my private studio collection featuring 20,000 one of a kind samples and my relationship with the celebrities, stylist and fashion editors.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have many proud moments of my career, One being when Sharon Stone called me directly and had me choose a dress for her for the Cannes Film Festival. And soon after saw her on the red carpet wearing the dress.
Another being Private bitting with Charlize Theron and treated for a beautiful lunch at her stunning house. Or being invited to be with Whitney Houston while she cooks rice and fried chicken at 1 in the morning in a beautiful bungalow.
Of course there are many many more proud moments I my career.
